Congratulations to Mr. Peter Twardawa and Brother George Savage, together they raised over $900.00. They walked 4.5 miles. Brother George walked in memory of his son George Jr. who passed away from cancer on Sept. 22, 2014 at the young age 39. He was a Police Officer with Niagara Regional Police Service. Peter walked on behalf of the Rankin Cancer Family Organization. The Rankin Cancer Walk & Run had set a goal of raising $12 million dollars. To date they have received over $11.8 million.

Council 15999 has supported this fundraiser for 8 years. Cancer doesn’t discriminate, therefore we must all do what we can to defeat this disease. Distribution of funds to: West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Hotel Dieu Shaver, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Brock University Cancer Rehab., Welland General Hospital, Port Colborne Hospital, Douglas Memorial Hospital, Greater Niagara General Hospital, Cancer Centre and St Catherines Hospital & Wellspring Niagara.
