St. Alphonsus – Peterborough

After 24 years of volunteering for Special Olympics, Brother Ron Cambridge, a member of Council #11086 (St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish), Peterborough, is moving to be closer to family in Eastern Ontario. So, on February 20th, Peterborough Special Olympics organized a surprise dinner for Ron and his wife Karen. Representatives from the Knights of Columbus were invited to participate in recognizing Ron’s contributions to Special Olympics locally, nationally and internationally over the years. Ron will be greatly missed by his home Council, Parish and community. At the dinner, Council #11086 along with other Councils, were honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation from Peterborough Special Olympics, for all their past “outstanding support and generosity” for Special Olympics. Pictured are those in attendance accepting the certificate for Council #11086, (L to R) Worthy District Deputy for District#4-Steve Benson, Worthy Recorder-Peter Roberts, Guest of Honour-Brother Ron Cambridge, Worthy Trustee-Rick Stankiewicz and Worthy Grand Knight-Ryan Brooks.
