//Mother Teresa – No Greater Love

Submitted by Henry Miller, State Warden

Ontario State Council

Arthur and Angie Peters, Joe and Tricia Bodnar and I had the honour of attending (and seeing for free) the premier of Mother Teresa No Greater Love at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto on Thursday evening January 19. Lynn wanted to go but absolutely had to look after our daughter Victoria’s dog.

Arthur did an excellent job of introducing the evening and this great film to the audience.  After the film was shown a panel of four, comprising Thomas Cardinal Collins, Rev. Brian Kolodiejchuk, a Canadian Missionaries of Charity (MC) priest and postulator of the cause for Mother Teresa’s sainthood, Stefan Slovak, one of the film’s field producers who lives in Toronto, and Sister Mary Bernice MC, who’s a star in both the movie and in person, spoke and answered questions.

Joe and I were photographed with the Knights banner used for photos and interviews at this event and with Sister Mary Bernice (see attached).  Joe and I also were interviewed individually and parts of the interviews may be used by the film’s managers to promote the film.  Joe, Tricia and I stayed until almost all of the attendees had left and so we were able to network and chat for a good length of time with those who were there.

Everyone there was asked to promote the film and so, on Friday, I sent out a message to Toronto Council 1388, Cardinal McGuigan Assembly 865 and key contacts in the 5 councils of District 5, other than Council 1388, using Council 1388’s automated messaging system (180 voice messages, 68 text messages and 115 email messages (see forwarded email below, underneath the photographs and PdFs: the voice message was similar to the email; the text of course much shorter).

I was happy to see that the film was promoted at Mass by the pastor of my parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH), Rev. Francis (Frank) McDevitt, and in the parish bulletin, noting that a group from OLPH would be going to see the film today, Monday January 22. (see below, underneath the photos).

I also was happy to see the advertisement of the film in the January 22, 2022 edition of The Catholic Register (see below underneath the photos and the PdF of the OLPH parish bulletin).

The film is being well publicized within the Catholic community and I hope many will see it.  It will be interesting to learn of the box-office numbers.
