Brother Norbert Oberle of Council 4916 each year has approached schools prior to Halloween to explain what the charity, Canadian Food For Children does and how it operates. He invites the children to consider sharing their trick-or treat treats with poor families around the world. A bucket is provided for each classroom into which treats can be deposited. The buckets are then collected after halloween and delivered to the Canadian Food for children warehouse in Mississauga. They are shipped to various 3rd world Countries where the treats are distributed. The buckets themselves are very valuable to the people as they are used to carry water, to bath babies and for chairs in their huts and schools.
