Thanks to the many Knights of Columbus sponsors who have already renewed the education scholarship of their needy Jerusalem students. In March, the project transferred the last scholarship assistance for 2021 (C$ 8,981.00). Thanks to all the Jerusalem Students sponsors, the amount of (C$ 46,981.00) in scholarships to needy students and in assistance to the Melkite Catholic Patriarchate School, Shepherds’ Fields, Bethlehem has been transferred for 2021. Thanks to the anonymous sponsor who donates annually C$10,000 ($5000 for school deficit $5000 for student scholarships) Thanks to our GOLD SPONSOR, Toronto Council 1388 who donates $5000 each year for student scholarships. Many have also generously donated additional sums towards the school deficit.
The generosity of the councils, knights and parishioners all over North America is touching lives in the Holy Land. We had 13 graduates in 2021. All went into higher learning in various universities: Journalism, Translation, Law, Computer Science, Medicine, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, Computer Engineering and Music. Many sponsors whose student graduated already, have chosen another student to offer him a scholarship and make a lasting impression in his/her future. www.jerusalemstudents.org is not only about education scholarships for needy Christian students but it is also about strengthening the Christian presence in the Holy Land as these students, go to University, graduate and form successful Christian families that will grow to populate the Holy Land. It is a very affordable initiative as sponsoring a scholarship starts at $21 per month to share a student or $42 for full scholarship.
