Jesus The King Council

St. Elijah feast which falls on 20th July was celebrated on Sunday 21st July mass in the Cathedral of The Transfiguration by the Jesus The King Melkite Catholic parish. The St. Elijah mass coincided with the visit of the Archbishop Emeritus of Jerusalem Most Reverend Joseph Jules Zerey who presided at the mass. This holy feast also coincided with the Priesthood Anniversary of Rev. Ibrahim El Haddad, the pastor of the parish. After the beautiful Byzantine Mass in English, Arabic and Greek, Jesus The King Council 15045 organized a lunch at Jerusalem Mediterranean Restaurant which was attended by 60 parishioners and Knights and their families. Archbishop Emeritus Joseph made several appreciation presentations consisting of a Byzantine icon of The Holy Mother and an olive wood cross to each of Rev. Ibrahim El Haddad, Rev. Youhanna Hanna, State Director Hikmat Dandan, Choir Chief Bro. Peter Homsy, also to SK George Farahat re Jerusalem Students. Then both Archbishop Joseph and Rev. Ibrahim cut the ceremonial cake made for the occasion while the “Jesus The King Choir ” lead by Peter Homsy chanted:
” God grant him many many happy happy years
fill his heart with joy throughout the years
and keep for us in his heart sweet nice
lovely bright and precious memories “.
