The Divine Mercy Message is about the immeasurable Love God has for us and is as easy as ABC.
A – Ask for God’s Mercy (Sacrament of Reconciliation)
B – Be merciful to others (Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us)
C – Completely trust in Jesus (Truly believe unceasingly in God’s Love for us)
God loves us, all of us, no matter how great our sins. He wants us to recognize that His Mercy is greater than our sins so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His Mercy, and let it flow through us to others.
“Divine Mercy” is the form God’s love takes when it flows from the Trinity to us.
“Jesus Christ is the Face of the Father’s Mercy”, Pope Francis explains in the Face of Mercy.
“Mercy is Love’s second Name”, St John Paul II explained in Rich in Mercy.
Jesus gave messages to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska through a series of revelations in the 1930s which are compiled into a Diary, giving us a deeper revelation of the Heart of God. Both St Faustina and St. John Paull II came from Poland which suffered grave persecution in the 20th century. Some quotes from the Diary:
“I don’t want to punish aching mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to My Merciful Heart” (1588) “The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My Mercy” (723)
The acronym F.I.N.C.H. summarizes the Devotion of Divine Mercy
Feast – Divine Mercy Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter graces: “The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment” (699) Image – To venerate Jesus as depicted in the Image given to St. Faustina especially on Divine Mercy Sunday (341) Novena – Pray the 9 day Novena starting on Good Friday and ending on Easter Saturday Chaplet – The Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed on Rosary Beads “Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to pray this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite Mercy” (687) Hour – Pray during the 3:00 PM hour of Mercy, especially the Stations of the Cross to recall His sacrifice of Love
